Jibekn, can you explain to us the leveling exploit you used to get to 1-80 in like a day?

Is it still unpatched?

The exploit is called the Tempest of Set. It will easily allow you to level 60-80 in minimum time. All you have to do is run the exploit near a bunch of enemy creatures varying from your current level to +5. Then pull as many creatures as possible, there is no limit to the amount, however, it is best to pull >30 creatures at a time. After you have aggro'd >30 mobs, run to the exploit and watch it cast one spell to kill all creatures in <2 seconds. Rinse and repeat.

This bug has been sort of fixed recently but a Tempest is still very viable at killing many things at once. They could drop a few totems and then cast Life of Set healing spell which would cause all healable targets to radiate an area effect damage spell that would essentially kill a mob in two ticks of the spell. This spell was also instant cast. If you had about a few healable targets, '2 Totems; 1 Tempest', you could easily dispatch any amount of creatures pulled. So this is how all the high levels got to 80 really fast, whether it be a full group or just a Tempest alone.

As for locations etc. I leveled to 33 regular, minimum grinding, quests. I suggest grinding any time possible. It's a little tricky on a PVP server. You need to find the good spots, the private instances. At level 33 I went into the Old Tarantia Sewers, whatever they are called. The entrance is right by the dock. I grinded in there till 37 or 38 then moved to Treasury of the Ancients. You can reset instances by zoning out, inviting someone, zoning back in then disbanding. I repeated this until 42. I then moved to Field of the Dead and quested and bounced between the Noble District to quest there. I grinded to 50 in Field of the Dead at the Haunted Forest. Then I moved to the Cannibal Caves in the Eiglophian Mountains and grinded to 58 there. Then did all the quests in the zone and finished up the rest of 60 in the Cannibal Caves. At that point I moved to Thunder River and grinded a spot that didn't have much traffic until 63. From there I moved to Purple Lotus swamp and started AE grinding cougar camps with a Tempest until level 70. At level 70 I started apprenticing lowbie healers and brought them to Keshatta and grinded mobs there until 74. Then I moved back to Purple Lotus swamp and AE grinded cougars again until 79. At 79 I did all the Keshatta quests I could and finished the rest back at the high level cougar camp.

Killing cougars from 63+ would make me a sad panda.

On the other hand, TR is a pain in the ass and refuses to spawn more instances. May try Aztel's a bit tonight or tomorrow (connect was fubar'd earlier, ping in the 5k+ region during combat). In the meantime, MGS4 is fun

Grinding isn't that bad if you can find a decent spot without folks around. I really didn't need to do it until 46ish but it seems to only take 2-3h/level, without quests, for a level up until now (65 assassin...bleh? heh); that's pretty mild compared to previous games (never tried WoW, altho may grab the Lich King).

Im just about 30 now. How long did it take you to level in the Old Tarantia Sewers by grinding solo? im a guardian btw

Sadly, I don't think Sekira and I will be AOCing it. We are so fickle in our old age. The game didn't hold our attention.

I'm thinking of going back to LOTRO.

And we are in a WoW guild that is running Kara which is a pale imitation of real old school EQ raiding. As a priest, I'm still hitting what is essentially a Complete Heal, only now I don't have to sit down anymore. So fun!

How is AOC working out for everyone else?

Well, I was doing good with it however only got to level 49 =p

TF2 sucked me back in with the Pyro patch and I wound up cancelling my AOC acct, my account won't expire till like the 21st of july though.
